Walter C. Pfister (born July 8, 1961) is an American director and former cinematographer. He is known for his partnership with director Christopher Nolan, working as a cinematographer in all of Nolan's films from 2000 to 2012. Pfister's work in Inception (2010) earned him an Academy Award for Best Cinematography. Pfister transitioned to a career as a director, debuting with Transcendence (2014).
